Charles Jourdain would not be denied on home soil.

On the main card of UFC Fight Night 262 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Jourdain (17-8-1 MMA, 8-7-1 UFC) stepped into the octagon to face Davey Grant in a bantamweight clash. At 3:05 of the opening round, Jourdain put together a finishing sequence capped off with a guillotine choke to put Grant (15-8 MMA, 8-7 UFC) away.

First, “Air” Jourdain took flight with a flying knee – a technique he attempted multiple times in the round. However, in this instance, he smashed Grant square in the face, dropping him to the canvas. Jourdain followed up immediately with ground and pound, and ended up slapping on a guillotine choke as Grant attempted to get back to his feet. He knew it was tight as he was already celebrating the win before Grant tapped – which came just a couple of seconds later.

With the win, Jourdain makes it back-to-back stoppages. His previous fight was against Victor Henry in November, whom he finished with the same submission technique in the second round. On the other side, Grant fails to keep the momentum of two wins going, suffering his first setback since a split decision to Daniel Marcos in July 2023.
