UFC Rio video: Michael Aswell as well as advertised in fast TKO of Lucas Almeida

Michael Aswell had a full fight camp for his second UFC fight, and he didn’t disappoint.

Michael Aswell said we didn’t get to see the real version of him in his UFC debut. Saturday, he backed that theory up in a big way.

Aswell (11-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC) made his promotional debut on just three days’ notice earlier this year and dropped a decision to Bolaji Oki. But with a full fight camp for Lucas Almeida (15-5 MMA, 2-4 UFC), he came out blazing and never let up.

Aswell took out Almeida with a TKO just 102 seconds into the fight. Almeida came into the fight reportedly with an injured hand, and he never offered any real resistance to the 25-year-old Aswell once he started pressing.

After the win, Aswell said he wants a fight on the UFC 323 card in Las Vegas in early December so he can fight ahead of his teammate Joshua Van, whom he said will challenge for the flyweight title on the card. That bout has not yet been announced by the UFC.
