Why Michael Bisping does not rule out Ilia Topuria boxing Terence Crawford

Michael Bisping admits a potential boxing match between UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria and Terence Crawford would excite him.

Topuria continued to call out Crawford after Crawford defeated Canelo Alvarez to become undisputed champion in a third boxing division Saturday at Allegiant Stadium. Topuria boldly claimed that he would knock out Crawford in their first exchange, leading Crawford to fire back by calling “El Matador” delusional and drunk. The war of words continued between the two stars in their respective sports, and Bisping finds himself engaged.

“Would these two compete in a boxing match? Well, I’m not going to sit here and say that Ilia Topuria would beat Terence Crawford in a boxing match, but I will say this: It does pique my interest, and it is something that potentially we might see one day,” Bisping said on his YouTube channel.

Bisping argues that with Dana White having just promoted Canelo vs. Crawford under the TKO banner makes a boxing match between Crawford and Topuria a possibility.

“You never know, maybe it does happen, but let’s be honest: If it were to happen, it would make a lot of money,” Bisping said. “You know why? Because there will be two fan bases tuning in, and that’s what happened with (Mayweather vs. McGregor). You’ve got all the boxing fans and then you’ve got all the MMA fans, and of course, you’ve got Dana White in the middle.

“Dana just did business with Terence Crawford. Ilia Topuria is under contract with the UFC. So, it’s not unbelievable to think of a world where this might happen. It’s just, would Crawford lower himself? Would he want to step in the ring with somebody like that? You never know because what else is there out there for him?”
