Charlie Woods accomplished a rarity in golf, even for seasoned professionals who’ve been on the PGA Tour for years.

The sole son of legendary golfer Tiger Woods had a hole-in-one in the final day of the Junior Players Championship on Sunday, Aug. 31.

It was Charlie Woods’ second hole-in-one of his career. Impressive, but the 16-year-old is still far behind his dad, Tiger, from Jupiter Island, who amassed 20 aces in his career.

Charlie, a junior at the Benjamin School, shot an even-par 72 in the third and final round of the tournament at the Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida to finish 7 over, tied for 31st out of the 75 players in the field (three withdrew).

But his best moment in the round was the hole-in-one he scored on the par-3 third hole.

How many holes in one did Tiger Woods have in his career?

Woods is in his 29th year on the PGA Tour and has recorded three aces on tour.

Oddly, they occurred three years in a row:

∎ 1996 Greater Milwaukee Open when he was 20 years old

∎ 1997 Phoenix Open when he was 21

∎ 1998 Sprint International in Castle Rock, Colorado when he was 22

But Tiger has a total of 20 competitive aces in his lifetime, with his first coming at the age of 6.
