Jonny Tattersall will be available for Leicestershire’s County Championship run-in after agreeing a loan deal until the end off the season before making his permanent switch from Yorkshire.
The 30-year-old wicketkeeper-batter was originally due to join the Foxes in November but is now set to make his debut for the county in their second XI fixture against Lancashire at Loughborough next week.
Tattersall, who has scored more than 3,000 first-class runs since his Yorkshire debut in 2018 and captained the White Rose to promotion from Division Two last season, will be available for the Foxes’ final three red-ball games of the campaign.
Leicestershire are 28 points clear at the top of the table and could seal their own promotion to Division One when they resume first-class action at home to Gloucestershire, starting on Monday, 8 September.
Top-order batter Stephen Eskinazi and all-rounder Ben Green are also set for debuts against Gloucestershire, having already signed loan deals from Middlesex and Somerset respectively prior to permanent moves in November.
