Latest QB Updates

The return of Adam Thielen to Minnesota isn’t the biggest news from a fantasy perspective, but it does help J.J. McCarthy‘s outlook in the first three weeks while Jordan Addison is serving his suspension. McCarthy is a true breakout candidate and the presence of a veteran like Thielen as the initial No. 2 receiver and eventual No. 3 will be incredibly valuable. The Vikings also have a favorable early schedule — opening against a banged-up Bears secondary before taking on the Falcons and Bengals, who were among the top six in most points allowed to QBs in 2024.
The other side of the Thielen trade might also be good news for fantasy managers, since his departure from Carolina allows Jalen Coker to get into the Panthers’ lineup. At this stage of their careers, Coker is a more dangerous wideout — which should only help Bryce Young‘s push to become a consistent fantasy starter. Like McCarthy, Young has a chance to push for low-end fantasy QB1 numbers this year, despite going undrafted in many leagues.
