HOLLYWOOD, Fla – Three PFL fighters stood out for Jonathan Coachman this year.
PFL wrapped up its tournaments last Thursday at the 2025 PFL World Tournament 10 event from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, where Antonio Carlos Junior, Fabian Edwards, and Oleg Popov were crowned champions in their respective weight classes.
Coachman, the former ESPN anchor who serves as a spokesman for the PFL, was asked who the MVPs were out of all the tournaments.
“Who was our MVP? That’s a good question,” Coachman told reporters during a post-fight news conference. “I think probably the biggest surprise was probably Fabian Edwards because he had kind of been average the past couple of years, but he came into this tournament, and he told us from the beginning, ‘I want to show people that I am as good as I think I am,’ and he did that three different times. I think if you’re looking at it from a company perspective, Thad Jean, not only did he perform great, he wasn’t even supposed to be in the tournament.
“He shows up every single night we ask him to show up. Tonight, he’s kissing babies and shaking hands and taking pictures, and that’s what you have to do. It’s not hard to be nice, it’s not hard to be a star. You’ve just got to go out, and you’ve got to do it. A lot of fighters and a lot of athletes don’t understand that. Thad Jean does.
“I would love to see Liz Carmouche against Dakota Ditcheva. She, at 41 years of age, is turning back the clock. So, we’ve got to give her a lot of credit as well. I think those are the three that stick out to me the most.”
Edwards knocked out Dalton Rosta with the same head kick his brother Leon won his UFC welterweight title with. Thad Jean shined in a unanimous decision win over Logan Storley, and Liz Carmouche knocked out Jena Bishop in Round 3.
