Alex Pereira will enter the octagon to defend his UFC light heavyweight title against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday.
Pereira, with a commendable record of 12 wins and 2 losses, is gearing up for his fourth title defense. His successful year, marked by three victorious title defenses, sets the stage for an intense battle against Ankalaev. Pereira is coming off a TKO triumph over Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 307 in October and a second-round knockout against Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303 in June.
His opponent, Ankalaev, is a force to be reckoned with and holds a record of 20-1-1. Ankalaev is coming off a unanimous decision win over Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 308 in October.
The co-main event, initially set to feature Justin Gaethje and Dan Hooker in a lightweight bout, took an unexpected turn. Hooker, unfortunately, had to withdraw from the fight due to a broken hand he suffered a couple of weeks ago. Stepping in for him is the equally skilled Rafael Fiziev, promising an equally thrilling match.
