The Knicks are adding another name to their roster.
New York is claiming former Celtics forward Anton Watson on a two-way deal, Watson’s agents told ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Watson was drafted by Boston out of Gonzaga in the second round (54th overall pick) of last year’s NBA Draft. The 24-year-old spent five seasons with the Bulldogs, and averaged 14.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in his final collegiate campaign.
The Celtics waived Watson on Monday after not logging any minutes this season.
For the Knicks, adding Watson comes after the team waived Matt Ryan and Jacob Toppin on Sunday and signed forward MarJon Beauchamp a day later. Watson and Beauchamp fill the two-way roster spots left open by Ryan and Toppin.
The Knicks still have one open roster spot for a player on a traditional deal.
