On one end of the leaderboard is 20-year-old Aldrich Potgieter, whose second-round 61 has him in front of the field by four shots through 36 holes. Potgieter has now made his second straight cut after missing the cut in his first two outings in 2025.
Also among those making the cut at the 2025 Mexico Open at VidantaWorld:
-
Stephan Jaeger, who shot 64 on Friday and is in solo second, four back
-
Brian Campbell, who posted a second-straight 65 late in the day to also get to 12 under, four back
-
Francesco Molinari, playing in his third event this season but making his first cut and is tied for 11th
-
First-round leader Harry Hall, who tumbled into a tie for 29th after a 72, after opening with a Thursday 64
-
17-year-old Blades Brown, who shot 68-69 to make his first cut since making his pro debut at the American Express to tie for 40th
-
Defending champion Jake Knapp, who finished 3 under to be among the 13 golfers to just sneak through
-
Antoine Rozner, who missed the green on his last hole but got up-and-down for par to make the cut on the number
On the other end are the trunk-slammers, the unlucky ones who will miss the weekend.
Friday evening, the 132-player field was carved up to the top 65 and ties, with 77 golfers making the cut while 55 were sent home.
The projected cut was 3 under for the bulk of the second round but at about 7:23 p.m. ET, with 24 golfers needing to finish their rounds, the cutline moved to 4 under. That would’ve been a costly shift to a dozen or so golfers but in the closing moments of the third round, the cutline went back to 3 under and all those guys breathed a sigh of relief.
