Tampa Bay Lightning Assign Conor Geekie To Syracuse

The Tampa Bay Lightning have assigned forward Conor Geekie to the Syracuse Crunch, it was announced Tuesday.

Geekie, who was acquired by the Lightning in the Mikhail Sergachev trade last summer, has spent the entire year with Tampa Bay thus far, collecting six goals and 12 points in 49 games.

Drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the first round of the 2022 NHL draft, Geekie only spent two games in the organization, which came with the Tucson Roadrunners at the end of last season.

Prior to making the jump to the pro level, Geekie spent parts of five seasons in the WHL with the Winnipeg Ice, Wenatchee Wild and the Swift Current Broncos. Over that time, he collected 111 goals and 269 points in 215 career regular season games.

With Geekie joining the Crunch, he will have the opportunity to play big minutes with the team and continue to grow as a player. Jon Cooper alluded to the fact that Geekie could come back up with the Lightning this season and this opportunity will only benefit him in the future.
