Video: Is Islam Makhachev now the lightweight GOAT after UFC 311?

.

Islam Makhachev has broken the record for most consecutive title defenses in the UFC lightweight division.

Makhachev (27-1 MMA, 16-1 UFC) notched his fourth title defense this past Saturday, quickly submitting veteran Renato Moicano in the main event of UFC 311 in Inglewood, Calif. Makhachev has been in the conversation of pound-for-pound best for quite some time, but now he’s being talked about as possibly the greatest of all time at lightweight.

So, has Makhachev done enough to surpass legends B.J. Penn and Khabib Nurmagomedov? If so, why? If not, what does he need to do to become the GOAT at 155 pounds?

MMA Junkie’s Brian “Goze” Garcia, Mike Bohn, Danny Segura and host Gorgeous George discuss Makhachev’s win and where this puts him in the conversation of greatest of all time at lightweight.

Watch their discussion in the video above, and don’t miss this week’s complete episode of “Spinning Back Clique” below on YouTube.
