Abbotsford Canucks forward Aatu Räty has won AHL Player Of The Week for the period ending Jan. 19.
Räty recorded two goals and seven assists in four games this week, highlighted by a four-point game on Jan. 14 against the Ontario Reign. His performance helped Abbotsford win all four games and extended their home winning streak to six.
The 22-year-old is up to seven goals and 20 points in 21 AHL games this season. He has also recorded two goals and two assists in 20 games with Vancouver while averaging 9:31 of ice time per game.
The Oulu, FIN., native has 99 points in 147 career AHL games and seven points in 35 career NHL games.
Originally a second round pick of the New York Islanders in 2021, Räty was traded to the Canucks in Jan. 2023 as part of the deal that sent Bo Horvat to the Islanders.
Räty is in the final year of a three-year deal that pays him $836,667 annually, he will be a RFA at seasons end.
