Sharks Dissappoint Again; Lose 4-1 To Islanders

The San Jose Sharks had another disappointing performance as the New York Islanders won 4-1 on Saturday night.

Mathew Barzal, Brock Nelson, Noah Dobson, and Ryan Pulock scored for the Islanders. Marcus Hogberg made 18 saves and has been red hot since returning to the NHL.

Barclay Goodrow scored the only goal for the Sharks, who have lost two in a row. Alexandar Georgiev got the start and did his best to keep his team in the game. He made 27 saves.

Once again, the Sharks started slowly. They were outshot 10-4 in the first period and 14-7 in the second.

Tyler Toffoli missed the game as a late scratch with a lower-body injury. Timothy Liljegren missed the game due to illness.

Barzal gets past Cody Ceci and beats Georgiev with a backhand finish to give the Islanders a 1-0 lead.

Goodrow swings a puck to the net and gets it past Hogberg to tie it 1-1.

Nelson gives the Islanders the lead right back with a goal off the rush for a 2-1 lead.

Dobson gives the Islanders a 3-1 lead with 26.2 seconds left in the second period.

Pulock’s one-timer from the point beats Georgiev on the blocker side.
