Gray Albright tops Florida State teammate Jack Bigham in playoff to win 2025 Jones Cup

The Jones Cup is considered one of the majors of amateur golf, so it’s fitting its finish Sunday was one that will be remembered for some time.

And it comes with some bragging rights.

With sunlight nearly gone and the moon lurking over Ocean Forest Golf Club in Sea Island, Georgia, Florida State grad student Gray Albright poured in a par putt on the first playoff hole to win the 2025 Jones Cup. He did so on the first playoff hole, topping Seminole teammate, junior Jack Bigham, after both players finished at 4 under following 54 holes of competition.

After opening in 4-under 68 on Friday, Albright signed for a pair of 72s on the weekend. Meanwhile, Bigham shot 1-under 71 on Sunday to match Albright, and the duo headed to a playoff to determine a champion.

Miles Russell, 16, led entering the final round, but a 74 in the final round saw him finished T-3, two shots back. Also finishing tied for third was Vanderbilt’s Jackson Van Paris and Duke’s Luke Sample.
