Venue: Portman Road, Kick-Off: 19:30pm
In a huge game at the bottom of the Premier League, 19th placed Ipswich Town host 17th placed Crystal Palace at Portman Road. It is the first time since 1995 that these two sides are playing against each other in a Premier league match with both desperate for a victory that would move them away from the relegation zone.
Ipswich have yet to win a home league game this season (Drawn 4, Lost 2) however they will be confident of breaking that record tonight as they face a team who have yet to win an away league game this season (Drawn 3, Lost 3).
If the Tractor Boys are to secure their first home league victory of the season they will look towards top scorer Liam Delap who has bagged 6 goals so far this term. A good omen for Ipswich could also be manager Kieran McKenna who is unbeaten in 28 mid-week games when manager of the Tractor Boys. It will be important that Ipswich start the game well in order to ignite the passionate Portman Road crowd who could provide the additional motivation the Ipswich players may need to get over the line.
Crystal Palace looked dangerous on their last away trip to Villa Park and were unlucky not to come away with three points, their threat on the counter attack will be something that Ipswich will need to be wary of. However, with only two wins in their last 19 away games coupled with a miserable mid-week record suggests that this could be another tough night for the Eagles.
Sports Alert News Prediction: Despite these two teams being the draw specialists of the division (6 draws each already this season), we are going for a slender 1-0 victory for Ipswich.
