Donte Johnson delivered his first-ever submission win in his official Octagon debut earlier tonight (Sat., Nov. 1, 2025) at UFC Vegas 110 LIVE on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nev., stopping middleweight prospect Sedriques Dumas in the second round.
The first round was a pretty even back-and-forth. Dumas looked a little better in the grappling and clinch game, but very sloppy on the feet (which included exhausting spinning techniques). Johnson remained patient and waited for his window of opportunity.
The chance to shine came early in the second round when Johnson was able to gain back control during a transition to the ground. Johnson started to work towards the guillotine choke, but before he even locked it up it appeared that Dumas had his hand raised ready to tap. Dumas didn’t even use his free hand to fight the grip as Johnson began to squeeze and forced the quick finish.
Even UFC color commentator, Daniel Cormier, thought Dumas’ efforts looked a little fishy and called him out following the stoppage. It was interesting to say the least, especially for a guy who was just recently fighting to pay his rent.
