Billy Horschel finished T-11 at the Black Desert Championship, featuring three straight five-under 66s to close out the event. That’s a cool $133,500 for a few days’ work, but more importantly, little Axel Brooks Horschel has been bitten by the golf bug, or is at least trying to replicate his old man’s swing down to the exact timing.

In the most adorable clip of the year, Horschel’s son attempts to time his simulator swing to the same precise millisecond of his dad’s drive on No. 10 at Black Desert. “You gonna hit it at the same time?” Brittany Horschel asks. “You gotta do a few waggles! Half practice swing. Now he’ll go.”
Axel keeps looking back at the screen to make sure both he and his pops are on the same wavelength. And he NAILS the timing. It’s uncanny. You know what they say: The apple doesn’t swing far from the tree.
One of his sisters loses her mind after giving some “swing with the hips” instruction, and the mom can’t stop laughing. That’s just some good ol’ fashioned golf fun and perhaps even a Horschel passing of the baton.

A framed photo of this is a shoo-in for a Father’s Day gift and a dang good memento for a solid finish to slowly close out the 2025 golf calendar. Axel’s certainly picked up a few swing tips from his father, most notably the waggles. No wins for Billy Ho this season (yet); however, this is a pretty good replacement.

“I have no God-honest control of my golf swing,” Horschel said earlier this season around the Players Championship, “And I don’t know where the golf ball is going right now, so I’m trying to get into the house as fast as I can.” Thankfully, both he and his son have figured out their respective swings. Just in time for one of the best videos of the golf year.
