PFL has parted ways with a two-time champion.
Thursday, the promotion announced its release of Larissa Pacheco from her contract.
“We thank her for her memorable bouts and wish her the best in future endeavors,” PFL said in a written statement.
Pacheco, 31, won the 2022 women’s lightweight championship and the 2023 women’s featherweight championship. She is 10-1 in her most recent 11 outings, including a victory over current UFC women’s bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison to win the . The lone loss came against Cris Cyborg in October 2024.
Since the unanimous decision defeat to Cyborg, Pacheco has not competed. It’s unclear why.
Now a free agent, Pacheco enters an MMA landscape with limited options. Given the current state of women’s bantamweight, the UFC could come calling, however.
Pacheco has not competed at 135 pounds since she was in the UFC in 2015. Pacheco went 0-2 in the UFC and was axed. The promotion gave her another glance in 2018 when she was cast on “The Ultimate Fighter 28.” However, she was eliminated in the opening round of the bracket by eventual winner Macy Chiasson.
