Alexander Hernandez got his second victory in less than a month when he stopped Diego Ferreira at UFC Fight Night 259.
After stopping Chase Hooper with strikes at UFC 319 in August, Hernandez (18-8 MMA, 10-7 UFC) continued his momentum in a big way with a highlight finish of Ferreira (19-7 MMA, 10-7 UFC) in their lightweight bout at Noche UFC from Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Hernandez made it five straight octagon victories at 155 pounds when he dropped Ferreira with a huge punch then swarmed with ground-and-pound. It could’ve been waved off multiple times, but the referee allowed Ferreira to take a beating before intervening at the 3:46 mark of Round 2.

After another successful outing, Hernandez said he wants to get one more fight in 2025 and named former title challenger Michael Chandler as the opponent to break him into the rankings of the division.
“This game is a war of attrition,” Hernandez told Daniel Cormier in his post-fight interview. “I’ve seen tremendous failure, and I’ve seen moments of success. Don’t you dare count me out. Top 15 next, let me get Michael Chandler.”
