The action continues at the Brazilian Grand Prix this afternoon as the Sprint Race takes place over 24 laps with the McLaren drivers of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris securing a front-row lockout during qualifying yesterday.
Red Bull driver and current world champion Max Verstappen has dominated the Sprint Races with victory in all four of this seasons events. However, after qualifying fourth for the Brazilian version and with what appears to be three faster cars in front of him on the grid, is his dominance about to end?
Lando Norris will be hoping to close the gap further to Max Verstappen in the Driver’s Championship and with 8 points available to the winner of the sprint race, the Britain will be confident of gaining a small psychological advantage leading into the main race especially given Verstappen will also be impacted by a 5 place grid penalty for an engine change.
Ferrari will look to continue their impressive recent form and push McLaren and Red Bull all the way in the battle for the Constructors championship whilst is has been another frustrating weekend so far for Mercedes with George Russell starting the sprint race in sixth place with Lewis Hamilton all the way down in eleventh.
A special mention to Oliver Bearman who qualified in the Top 10 for the Sprint Race after stepping in for the ill Kevin Magnusson in the Haas.
