Potential Nets trade target De’Aaron Fox reportedly heading from Kings to Spurs in blockbuster deal

De’Aaron Fox, whom the Nets were recently linked to as a potential trade destination, is reportedly on the move. The Sacramento Kings are finalizing a trade that sends the 2023 All-Star point guard to the San Antonio Spurs, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Sunday.

The blockbuster deal includes the Chicago Bulls. Two-time All-Star shooting guard Zach LaVine heads to the Kings in the multi-team agreement, according to Charania.

SNY’s Ian Begley reported last Tuesday that the Nets were “among the team that view De’Aaron Fox as a trade target and have been monitoring the Fox situation.”

“Nets definitely view De’Aaron Fox as a trade target,” Begley said last Tuesday. “But it only makes sense for them if he is available in the offseason.”

Begley added that opposing franchises “believed San Antonio was among the teams he’d like to play for.”

Fox, 27, is averaging 25 points and 6.1 assists in 37 minutes through 45 games (all starts) this season. He is in the fourth season of a five-year, $163 million deal that was signed Nov. 25, 2020.
