Last night saw a number of games, including a 16-goal bout between the Val-d’Or Foreurs and the Charlottetown Islanders.
Charlottetown Islanders (6) – Val-d’Or Foreurs (10)
The box score was long, for many reasons, in the battle between the Foreurs and Islanders. After a quiet first period with only two penalties, the two teams would combine for an additional 15 penalties in the final 14 minutes — including a game misconduct for Charlottetown Islanders overage forward Simon Hughes for “discriminatory taunts, gestures and slurs” after a two assist night. The losing squad also saw strong performances by right winger Ross Campbell (1+2) — who was also kicked from the game for a check to the head — and centerman Matthew Butler (2+3).
As for the Foreurs, their offense came mostly from three players. 2025 NHL draft prospects Philippe Veilleux and Nathan Brisson combined for seven of the team’s 10 goals. Overage right winger Noah Reinhart would pick up one of the remaining three alongside five assists and fellow overager, defenseman Will Bishop, also had a strong game with two assists.

Halifax Mooseheads (3) – Chicoutimi Saguenéens (8)
The young Mooseheads squad suffers more growing pains with a tough loss against a contender like the Chicoutimi Saguenéens.
Their young talents were the forefront of their offense with points from their two 2025 NHL draft eligible forwards C Liam Kilfoil (1+1), LW Shawn Carrier (0+1), as well as 2026 NHL draft prospects, LW Caylen Blake (0+1) and even an assist from goaltender Nicolas Gillham-Cirka.
Blake’s appearance in the game was short lived thanks to a fight major and subsequently a game misconduct for him and his dance partner in Chicoutimi defender Alonso Gosselin.
The Sags had a point to make this weekend — to show they were still a contender. Their eight goal performance tonight will certainly help. Front-and-center was 2026 NHL draft eligible and Kazakh import Korney Korneyev who had a career best three point (1+2) night. Meanwhile, 2025 NHL draft eligible defenseman Alex Huang picked up a goal and an assist, breaking a six game pointless streak. Ducks fans should rejoice as prospect winger Maxim Masse picked up two assists in the affair as well.
Other notable performances include: LW Christophe Bertholet (2+0), D Julien Wasmer (0+2), overage C Felix Gagnon (0+2), 2025 NHL draft eligibles LW Emile Guite (1+0), C Nathan Lecompte (1+0) and D Jonathan Prud’homme.

Acadie-Bathurst Titan (1) – Baie-Comeau Drakkar (3)
Much like the aforementioned Isles/Foreurs game, the Titan and Drakkar game was chippy as well with 20 penalties called — including two game misconducts for fighting on Acadie-Bathurst Titan forward Dawson Sharkey and Seattle Kraken prospect, Baie-Comeau Drakkar defenseman Alexis Bernier.
Before getting sent off for fighting, Bernier would tally two assists, continuing his dominant January where he’s amassed 16 points (5+11) over 13 games. Another big part of the Drakkar’s win was the performance of 2025 NHL draft eligible goaltender Lucas Beckman, who stopped 25 of 26.
As for the Titan, they were just too undisciplined as two of the goals from the Drakkar came on the powerplay. On the bright side though, 2025 NHL draft eligible D Noah Laberge picked up a goal and overage goaltender Josh Fleming had a solid night (26/29).

Sherbrooke Phoenix (2) – Rimouski Océanic (3)
The Océanic didn’t quite dominate the Phoenix, but they bested the Phoenix in a number of statistical categories tonight. From shots, to faceoff wins, to hits and most importantly goals.
Capitals prospect Eriks Mateiko assisted on two of the Océanic’s three goals, including one goal by Flyers prospect D Spencer Gill. 2026 NHL draft eligible G WIlliam Lacelle picked up the win for the ‘Nics, with 22 saves on 24 shots.
Despite a strong game from goaltender Linards Feldbergs (28/31), the Phoenix couldn’t get it done. However, 2026 NHL draft eligible RW Thomas Rousseau has continued his four game point streak (3+2) with a goal tonight.

Saint John Sea Dogs (1) – Rouyn-Noranda Huskies (6)
Tonight was just not the Sea Dogs’ night, as they drop six goals to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. The sole goal was scored by 2026 NHL draft eligible C Dylan Rozzi.
On the other hand, the Huskies had quite the night, with multi point nights from C Samuel Rousseau (0+2), RW Samuel Beauchemin (0+2), overage LW Antonin Verreault (0+2) and LW Nathan Langlois (0+2). 2025 NHL draft eligibles G Samuel Meloche (29/30) and LW Bill Zonnon (0+1) had solid nights as well. Additionally, LW Remi Gelinas potted a goal, continuing his now 14 game point streak (14+6).

Drummondville Voltigeurs (3) – Shawinigan Cataractes (6)
The Cataractes came out on top against the Voltigeurs thanks to a hat trick from overage LW Yoan Loshing. Cataractes players with multi-point nights include RW Felix Lacerte (0+2), D Julien Lanthier (0+2) and 2025 NHL draft eligible LW Reece Peitzsche (0+2).
Despite points from the Voltigeurs two NHL prospects, Lightning RW Ethan Gauthier (0+2) and Sabres D Simon-Pier Brunet (0+1), the Volts just couldn’t claw back for the win. Volts overage C Sam Oliver (1+0) couldn’t keep his frustrations in by the dying moments of the third, landing a game misconduct for a check to the head and a fight.
The story of this game, however was the goaltending as despite the high scores, both Drummondville’s Riley Mercer (35/39) and Shawinigan’s Mathys Fernandez (33/36) had massive nights.
