Gorimbo (14-5 MMA, 4-2 UFC) enters his first fight of 2025, looking to bounce back from a first-round submission loss to Vicente Luque in December. That result snapped a four-fight winning streak that included wins over Takashi Sato, Pete Rodriguez, Ramiz Brahimaj and Niko Price.

Wells (12-4-1 MMA, 4-2 UFC) also needs to find the win column here as he comes in after dropping back-to-back fights against Carlston Harris and Max Griffin. His recent skid ended the momentum of a six-fight winning streak, consisting of five finishes and four wins to kick off his UFC tenure.

Filling out the main card is a welterweight fight between Jeremiah Wells and Themba Gorimbo.

If the top of the welterweight division has traditionally been referred to as wrestleweight, then this fight aptly represents what a quiet majority of the weight class has steadily devolved into—and that’s the jankweight division.

Wells, for example, operates as a glitchy video game character who is experiencing severe lag. Whereas Gorimbo, who disregards mechanics like most men do with directions for assembly, is clearly not competing for any style points out there.

Gorimbo is the more active fighter with a game that has some semblance of a process, so I get why he’s favored to win here. That said, I suspect that Gorimbo makes too many mistakes for a fight-ending opportunist like Wells to not pick up on.
