Kevin Christian suffered more damage than he needed to earlier tonight (Sat., Nov. 1, 2025) at UFC Vegas 110 LIVE on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nev., after a botched referee call left the Contender Series choked unconscious.
Despite an undefeated record and towering physique, Christian was a sizeable betting underdog entering his official UFC debut. That’s due to him being relatively unproven in his young career and going up against a talented prospect in Billy Elekana, who was 1-1 inside of the Octagon heading into Saturday night.
Both light heavyweights had their moments early into this “Prelims” headliner, but it was Elekana who landed the most meaningful shot. In came in the form of a clean right hook counter that stuck Christian and sent him crashing to the canvas. Elekana followed up with heavy ground-and-pound before jumping on Christian’s back and sinking in the rear-naked choke.
Unfortunately, the referee did not see Christian tapping. He must have tapped over 10 times, but his arm was to the side and out of sight. That allowed Elekana to hold the choke for longer than he needed to and he eventually left Christian snoring on the canvas.
