“Walking Trouble” is disappointed.
No. 9-ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight Ante Delija makes his second Octagon walk this weekend (Sat., Nov. 1, 2025) against No. 6-ranked Waldo Cortes-Acosta in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 110, which takes place inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
However, the Croatian contender appreciated the loyalty.
“He’s a really, really dear friend of mine, and I do believe with that statement, he really showed his character. I would also never fight against him,” Delija told MMAMania.com during UFC Vegas 110 media day.
“I really don’t understand. I’ve had 33 fights, and I’ve never poked someone in the eye,” Delja said. “I do believe that punishment for that should be severe…I think [Aspinall] did a great job with not continuing, and if more fighters do the same thing, I think we can prevent the same thing from happening again…More fighters should do the same thing, and more fighters should be punished for behaving that way, and I do believe we’ll stop with that whatsoever.”
Unfortunately, there’s still no real solution for eye pokes in MMA, and odds are we’ll see at least one during UFC Vegas 110.
