Hull KR have appointed former Salford Red Devils and Huddersfield Giants head coach Ian Watson as Willie Peters’ assistant on a two-year deal.
The 48-year-old joins the coaching staff at the treble-winning Robins after Danny Ward left his role earlier this week to be closer to family in London.
Watson guided Salford to the 2019 Grand Final and helped Huddersfield reach the Challenge Cup final in 2022 and has been coaching in America with Seattle Seawolves.
“I admired how Ian coached Huddersfield as they were always a difficult team to break down and beat,” head coach Peters told the club website.
