Happy National TE Day to all who celebrate. Back in 2018, the idea for this holiday was conceived during a conversation between 49ers TE George Kittle and Garrett Celek, along with then-QB Jimmy Garoppolo. The fourth weekend in October has been National TE Day ever since. That landed on Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season and it creates an interesting narrative for fantasy football managers. Some of that narrative ran true on Sunday in the early window. Let’s recap some of the top TE scorers from Sunday and which TEs found the end zone.

Week 8 Tight End touchdown scorers

  • Dallas Goedert, Eagles vs. Giants (2 TDs)

  • George Kittle, 49ers vs. Texans

  • Jake Tonges, 49ers vs. Texans

  • Harold Fannin Jr., Browns vs. Patriots

  • Mason Taylor, Jets vs. Bengals

  • Hunter Henry, Patriots vs. Browns

  • David Njoku, Browns vs. Patriots

  • Charlie Kolar, Ravens vs. Bears

  • Gunnar Helm, Titans vs. Colts

Goedert led the way by finding the end zone twice against the Giants on Sunday. He’s had a renaissance-type of season and has been a touchdown machine with seven so far in 2025, the most at the position as of this writing. He also led the position in fantasy points with 16.3 following the early slate.

Of course, Kittle found the end zone on the holiday that he created. That was one of the bigger fantasy narratives going into Week 8 — would Kittle score? He did and if you rode that narrative wave, it paid off a bit. Kittle didn’t have a huge fantasy day with 12.3 points but it was a nice bounce back compared to last week, when he finished with a goose egg. Teammate Jake Tonges, another surprise this season, found the end zone for his fourth score of the campaign.

The Browns saw two of their tight ends find pay dirt with Fannin and Njoku. That was mostly in a blowout loss to the Pats. The rookie Fannin has been solid in his first NFL season and has become a borderline startable fantasy option week-to-week.

Taylor, another rookie, also found the end zone and has caught at least five passes in five of his last six games. The Jets head into their bye in Week 9, but Taylor has worked his way into starting consideration, even with inconsistent play at QB.

Meanwhile, Henry’s only catch of the day went for a touchdown in the Patriots’ win over the Browns. We also had a couple of tight ends rostered in fewer than 1% of fantasy leagues who found the end zone in Kolar and Helm.
