Ciryl Gane’s most recent win was a big one, but also controversial.
Back in December 2024, Gane picked up a split decision win over long-time contender and former Bellator champion Alexander Volkov. Two of the judges’ scorecards read 29-28 in favor of Gane, and the other one 28-29 in favor of Volkov. Despite getting the nod from the majority of the judges, many watching live and from home thought the Russian fighter had done enough to get the win.
You can watch Gane’s close and highly-disputed bout with Volkov in the video above.
Gane (13-2 MMA, 102- UFC) returns in the main event of UFC 321, which takes place Saturday at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. He takes on new UFC undisputed heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall (15-3 MMA, 8-1 UFC) in a five-round bout.
