Pic: Heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall scores patriotic custom shorts before UFC 321

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall is set to make his first title defense as undisputed champion against former interim titleholder Ciryl Gane in the main event of UFC 321 this weekend (Sat., Oct. 25, 2025) inside Etihad Arena on “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi.

Aspinall went with classic Vale Tudo-style shorts emblazoned with the red, white, and blue Union Jack pattern, along with a Manchester worker bee as a nod to his hometown pride. It’s a simple, no-nonsense design — fitting for a fighter who proudly represents the U.K.

However, fan reactions have been mixed. Some praised the clean look, while others couldn’t resist comparing the design to something Austin Powers might wear — IYKYK.

“They are not the worst, but they are not the best either, but they fit for how basic Tom is,” a fan wrote on social media .

Aspinall joins an elite group of fighters with custom fight shorts, including Jon Jones, Ilia Topuria, Max Holloway, Merab Dvalishvili, Alexander Volkanovski, Alex Pereira, Paddy Pimblett, Julianna Pena, and Khalil Rountree, among a few special others.
