Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis: Former UFC champions to clash on Netflix undercard

Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman will go head to head for a third time — except one will be in a boxing ring.

Most Valuable Promotions confirmed Thursday afternoon the former UFC middleweight champions will collide in a trilogy bout on the Netflix-streamed Nov. 14 Jake Paul-Gervonta “Tank” Davis undercard.

Silva, who was defeated by Weidman in back-to-back UFC middleweight title fights in 2013, will be looking for revenge when they clash in a six-round heavyweight bout at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

Silva, 50, is 3-2 in the squared circle. He lost his debut to Osmar Luiz Teixeira in 1998, but defeated Julio Cesar De Jesus in 2005. Silva’s last three bouts have come in recent years. The Brazilian defeated former WBC middleweight boxing champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in 2021 by split decision and followed it up with a first-round KO of ex-UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz later in 2021.

Silva, however, was defeated via unanimous decision by Jake Paul in his last ring appearance in October 2022. In the UFC, Silva retired in 2020 with a 34-11 (1 NC) record.

Weidman famously knocked out Silva to end his 2,457-day run as UFC middleweight champion in 2013. Weidman ended his UFC career last December with a 16-8 record.

Weidman, 41, is a former college wrestler who has never had a professional boxing match. His UFC tenure ended in 2024 after a TKO loss to Eryk Anders capped off a four-fight stretch in which Weidman went 1-3.
