Ex-UFC stars Silva & Weidman to box at Paul event

Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva will fight in a six-round heavyweight bout on the undercard of Jake Paul’s exhibition bout against Gervonta Davis on 14 November in Miami, Most Valuable Promotions has announced.

Weidman, 41 and Silva, 50, fought in the UFC, with Weidman winning both their back-to-back encounters in 2013.

American fighter Weidman ended Silva’s seven-year reign as UFC middleweight champion with his first win and both men have since retired from MMA.

Silva has competed in five boxing matches, losing two of those bouts.

The Brazilian, widely considered one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, last boxed in 2022 when he was beaten by Paul.

Weidman retired from the UFC in January, finishing his MMA career with 16 wins and eight losses, and will be competing in his first boxing fight.

Paul’s exhibition bout with lightweight world champion Davis will be held at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

There are three world titles on the undercard, including Alycia Baumgardner’s defence of her featherweght titles against Leila Beaudoin.

The event will be streamed by Netflix and is being promoted by Most Valuable Promotions, Paul’s own company.
