Lopes (27-7 MMA, 6-2 UFC) capped off the third annual Noche UFC event with a thrilling second-round TKO of Silva (16-3 MMA, 5-1 UFC) that started with a spinning back elbow at Frost Bank Arena in San Antonio, Texas.
The result puts Lopes right back in the mix among title contenders at 145 pounds, and though he would like another chance at the belt next, he admitted he likely needs one more to solidify his position.
