Highlights! Alden Coria delivers nasty TKO in impressive debut | Noche UFC 3

Alden Coria delivered a huge performance in his Octagon debut earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 13, 2025) LIVE on ESPN+ from inside Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Tex., stopping flyweight prospect Alessandro Costa with a third-round TKO (punches).

Coria, who is the main training partner for UFC flyweight contender Joshua Van, came into Saturday night a pretty large betting underdog. That’s because Costa has shown the ability to deliver fireworks on the feet and on the ground. It was going to take an upset performance from Coria, who was filling in for an injured Edgar Chairez.

This fight wasn’t one that particularly stood out to fight fans on paper, but maybe it should have. That’s because both Coria and Costa fought tooth and nail for as long as their flyweight bout lasted. They each landed big punches on the feet, while mixing in some entertaining grappling and transitions on the ground. It was a true back-and-forth affair, but things didn’t go all that well for Costa to end the second as he seemed to sustain an injury to his foot.

After barely getting back to his corner after the second round, Costa came out in a defensive shell to begin the third. There was clearly something wrong with his toe, which allowed Coria to land at will and eventually wilt the Brazilian flyweight along the fence to walk away with the TKO stoppage.
