After the Green Bay Packers beat the Washington Commanders 27-18 on Thursday night, Packers fans chanted “thank you, Jerry” while newly acquired star pass rusher Micah Parsons was on the postgame Amazon set.
“Jerry” took notice.

“Well I’ll tell you,” Dallas Cowboys team owner and general manager Jerry Jones said, “the way they’re playing, the way Green Bay is playing, I’m all for them enjoying and chanting anything that they really want to.”
Jones was making one of his weekly appearances on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas-Fort Worth. A week before the regular season kicked off, Jones and the Cowboys traded Parsons to the Packers for a pair of first-round draft picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

He went on to analogize the Parsons deal to the famous 1989 Herschel Walker trade, which he also did in the media conference announcing the deal.

“If you make a move on a top player, this shouldn’t surprise anybody that we would have that kind of reaction from their fan base, the other team’s fan base, or for that matter our fan base in general,” Jones said. “I knew this was coming almost the day I walked into training camp. I knew that if I got to make this trade, that this would be there incoming.”
The Packers moved to 2-0 Thursday with a pair of convincing wins over the Commanders and Detroit Lions, both of whom were among the final four teams in the NFC playoffs last season. Parsons has already looked every bit a three-time All-Pro, opening things up for other members of Green Bay’s defense and raising the unit’s level as a whole.
The Cowboys, for their part, nearly beat the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles on the road in Week 1, and their run defense against Saquon Barkley was generally sound, especially after returning to play following a lightning delay that lasted over an hour.

The Eagles lost star defensive tackle Jalen Carter before a single snap in that game after he spit on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. Jones had thoughts on that, too.
“I said, ‘Well, I guess the man upstairs is evening it up. We don’t have Micah; they’re letting us [not] have him,'” Jones said.
The Cowboys host the Packers in Week 4 on Sunday Night Football. There should be lots to talk about, for fans and Jerry Jones.
