Live results: LPGA leaderboard from Day 1 of Kroger Queen City Championship

MAINEVILLE, OH − The LPGA returns to Greater Cincinnati for the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G at TPC River’s Bend.

Defending champion Lydia Ko and other top players in the world are competing for a share of a $2 million purse this week.

The first round is set to begin Sept. 11.

Nelly Korda, who finished tied for fifth in last year’s Kroger Queen City Championship, climbed into second place after three consecutive birdies. However, the World No. 2. just suffered a bogey on the par-3 seventh. She sits at 5-under par with two holes remaining.

In its young history (2022-present), there has never been a back-to-back winner in Kroger Queen City Championship history. Lydia Ko will attempt to pull it off this week after setting a course-record in last year’s win. Ko will tee off this afternoon.

After going 1-under through six holes, Chanettee Wannasaen is 4-under over the last four holes, punctuated by an eagle on the par-4 10th hole. She has an early one-shot lead after 10 holes.

Charley Hull, the World No. 8, began her opening round with four birdies in the first six holes. She sits at 4-under through 7.

The first tee shots of the Kroger Queen City Championship were fired at 7:20 a.m. The group of Daniela Darquea, Alexa Pano and Gemma Dryburgh began on the 426-yard, par-4 first hole. The group of Lauren Morris, Soo Bin Joo and Caroline Masson started on the back-9 at the 396-yard, par-4 No. 10.

The tournament is a 72-hole, stroke-play event. The par-72 course measures 6,876 yards. It features four par-5s and four par-3s, with two each on the front and back-9.
