Terence Crawford predicts KO, responds to ‘drunk’ Ilia Topuria

LAS VEGAS – Terence Crawford doesn’t think Ilia Topuria was in his right mind when the UFC champion boldly predicted a quick knockout in a hypothetical boxing match.
UFC lightweight titleholder Topuria inserted himself in the narrative ahead of Crawford’s massive showdown with Canelo Alvarez on Saturday at Allegiant Stadium (Netflix) when he claimed he could transition sports to enter the ring and not only win, but deliver a highlight.
Crawford could only smile when he was asked about Topuria’s message during Wednesday’s media day event. Simply put, he thinks Topuria must’ve been drinking when he wrote that and hit send, and let it at that.
“That dude drunk,” Crawford told MMA Junkie and other reporters. “You know a lot of MMA guys, they drink a lot. So he must’ve been on that alcohol that day.”
