Mike Tyson set to fight Floyd Mayweather in boxing bout

Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather are allegedly set to fight. You read that right.

The two boxing legends are expected to throw down in an exhibition bout in Spring 2026, according to an announcement Thursday. The exact date and location for the event have yet to be determined. Tyson and Mayweather signed with CSI SPORTS/FIGHT SPORTS, who are putting on the fight between the two legends.

Mayweather is 48 years old and Tyson is 59. Neither are strangers to exhibition bouts post their professional competitive careers.

Since he retired from professional boxing after defeating UFC star Conor McGregor in a blockbuster fight, Mayweather has competed in eight exhibition bouts, with three of those being against influencers-turned-fighters. In his last appearance, he went the distance with John Gotti III in August 2024 and due to it being an exhibition, the bout was ruled a no result. Mayweather also boxed WWE and YouTube star Logan Paul in Miami in 2021.

Mayweather retired from boxing with an unbeaten record of 50-0. He won 15 major championships belts spanning five weight classes from super featherweight to light middleweight. He’s considered one of the greatest boxers of all time, and the best defensive fighter in the history of boxing.

On the other hand, Tyson, once the king of the heavyweight division in the 90’s, fought Jake Paul last November in a professional bout, losing a unanimous decision. It was his first professional fight in 20 years. Prior to that, the most recent time Tyson saw competition was in 2020 when he went the distance with fellow legend Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout. Tyson reigned as the undisputed heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990. Like Mayweather, he’s also considered an all-time great.
