Bryan Battle is already back with another major MMA organization.
The PFL announced Friday that it has signed Battle (12-2, 1 NC) to be part of its middleweight roster less than a month after the 30-year-old parted ways with the UFC.

Battle became a rising contender in the UFC’s welterweight division after winning The Ultimate Fighter 29 as a middleweight. He went on to compile a 7-1 (1 NC) UFC record, but his stint was marred by weight-cutting issues including misses against Randy Brown and Gabriel Green. The problem came to a head at UFC 319, where Battle was supposed to return to 185 pounds to fight Nursulton Ruziboev.
Disaster struck and Battle ended up missing weight again, coming in four pounds over the limit for a second straight fight. The bout was briefly rescheduled as a catchweight contest, but the UFC later announced the matchup was cancelled outright and Battle was subsequently released.
He returned to action quickly, booking a fight with Derik de Freitas at a Dirty Boxing event on Aug. 29. Battle needed just 56 seconds score a TKO of de Freitas, and now he returns to the world of MMA with the announcement of his PFL signing.
An opponent and date for Battle’s league debut are still to be determined.
