Bryan Battle finds new MMA home with PFL after UFC release

Bryan Battle’s MMA career will continue with the PFL.

On Friday, the PFL announced that Battle, a UFC veteran who won “The Ultimate Fighter 29,” has signed with the promotion. While no details were included in the PFL announcement, a promotion official told MMA Junkie that it’s an exclusive contract.

No word on which division Battle will compete in or when his first fight will take place.

Battle, 30, was released by the UFC a little more than two weeks ago on Aug. 20 after he missed weight in back-to-back fights in two different division. After failing to hit the mark for a welterweight bout with Randy Brown in December, Battle was forced to move up to middleweight, but he failed there, too, registering at 190 pounds for a matchup with Nursulton Ruziboev, which was canceled the day before UFC 319.

It didn’t take long for Battle to land on his feet as he agreed to fight for Jon Jones and Mike Perry’s Dirty Boxing Championship where he scored a quick TKO victory in just 56 seconds. Afterward, Battle was all smiles as he declared, “The only person that could stop me is me.”

Now battle gets the opportunity to prove that in the PFL.
