Darren Till turned in what’s likely undisputedly his most violent finish to date Saturday when he brutally knocked out former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold.
In Round 3 of their six-round match at Misfits Boxing 22 in Manchester, England, Till folded Rockhold over backward like a lawn chair with a violent combination. The stoppage came at 1:08 of the round.
Till had stunned Rockhold in each round, including a big knockdown with seconds on the clock in Round 1. Rockhold did his best to shake out the cobwebs, but struggled to keep his hands up and slowly became a sitting duck.
Till exploded with a fight-ending barrage – and punched the consciousness out of Rockhold.
Till, 32, moves to 4-0 in exhibition boxing.
Rockhold, 40, moves to 1-2 in combat sports fights since his UFC departure. He lost to Mike Perry in bareknuckle, but knocked out Joe Schilling in Karate Combat.
