Makhachev (27-1 MMA, 16-1 UFC) will move up a weight class in an attempt to capture a second title. Makhachev won the lightweight title at UFC 280 by stopping Charles Oliveira. He then recorded title defenses against Alexander Volkanovski (twice), Dustin Poirier and Renato Moicano.
