The 24-year-old did not finish the game on Tuesday against the New York Islanders, playing just 7:34 of ice time. At this morning’s practice in Philadelphia, Kupari was riding the stationary bike.

“Seven days. Wait it out and see how it goes,” said Arniel. “He’s on the bike today. Said he’s feeling a lot better but obviously have to go through that.”

Kupari was brought to the Jets in the deal that saw Pierre-Luc Dubois head to the Los Angeles Kings. In 58 games this season, Kupari has scored five goals and eight points, providing speed on the fourth line.

According to NHL Edge, Kupari has recorded the second fastest max speed at 24.47 MPH, trailing just Colorado Avalanche forward Martin Necas who reached a max speed of 24.49 MPH. He is also tied for third in the NHL in total number of bursts recorded over 22 MPH.

Losing the speed he provides in the bottom six will hurt the Jets in these next few road games, but replacing him will be a reliable defensive forward in David Gustafsson.

Gustaffson also missed time earlier this season with a concussion and has played in 28 games, scoring a goal and five points.

The Jets will look to end their three-game losing skid as they take on the Philadelphia Flyers tonight.
