Huddersfield Giants hooker Zac Woolford has been ruled out for up to 10 weeks with an ankle injury.
The 28-year-old Australian picked up the injury in the defeat by Hull FC last week and will have to undergo an operation.
Meanwhile, forward Joe Greenwood is facing six weeks on the sidelines with a knee issue.
“It’s unbelievably bad news,” head coach Luke Robinson told BBC Radio Leeds.
“Joe has been really good for us and it’s disappointing that his momentum has been stopped.
“I think everyone has realised what a lynchpin Zac has been, he really makes us tick. He’s a really big loss for us.”
