Colten Ellis is sticking around.
The St. Louis Blues have agreed to terms on a two-year, two-way contract with 24-year-old goalie, who is having a terrific season with Springfield of the American Hockey League.
Ellis was originally drafted by the Blues in the third round of the 2019 NHL Draft and has played in 31 games for the Thunderbirds; he is tied for third in the AHL 19 wins (19-7-3) with a 2.41 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage.
With Jordan Binnington and Joel Hofer in St. Louis and Ellis and Vadim Zherenko manning the pipes for the Thunderbirds, goaltending depth in the organization seems to be fine.
Ellis was slated to become a restricted free agent with arbitration rights on July 1.
Overall, Ellis is 27-19-8 with a 2.73 GAA and a .920 save percentage.
