One of the most anticipated times on the hockey calendar is here with NHL trade deadline week.
We’re tracking the trades as they happen with analysis, lists and more.
Some of the biggest names in the trade market were already moved, such as J.T. Miller and Seth Jones. Superstar Mikko Rantanen went from the Colorado Avalanche to Carolina Hurricanes, but he’s surfaced in trade speculation again.

Latest Trades Tracker
March 4
To Edmonton: Trent Frederic (C), Max Jones (LW), Petr Hauser (RW)
To Boston: Max Wanner (D), 2025 second-round pick, 2026 fourth-round pick
To New Jersey: Shane LaChance (LW)
Boston retains 50 percent of Frederic’s cap hit. St. Louis retains 50 percent of Frederic’s remaining cap hit (25 percent of total cap hit).
The Oilers navigated tight salary cap constraints to get a needle-moving center who isn’t afraid to get physical and annoy opponents. Frederic only has 15 points in 57 games this season, but he had a career-high 40 points in 82 games last season and 31 points the campaign prior.
If the 27-year-old returns to last season’s scoring rate in Edmonton, the Oilers’ depth scoring issue will be virtually solved. If his scoring doesn’t improve, then the Oilers traded assets just to be stuck in the same situation.
The Bruins, meanwhile, have next season in mind instead of keeping pending UFA Frederic as an “own rental” in the playoff chase. – Jonathan Tovell
