NHL insider Pierre LeBrun reported that the Utah Hockey Club has “no intention of being sellers” at the March 7 NHL Trade Deadline.
Utah Hockey Club’s Projected Lineup For Tonight’s Game vs. Minnesota Wild The
Utah Hockey Club take on the Minnesota Wild tonight at 9:00 p.m. Here are the projected lineups for Utah HC, please note these are subject to change.
Obviously, Utah is still in the thick of the wild card race in the West and would rather be buyers than sellers. They sit just three points out of the final wild card spot, and although holding on to a few pending free agents could be risky, it’s what this team and fan base needs.
LeBrun sat down with Utah’s GM, Bill Armstrong, and he had nothing but great things to say about his team.
“Right now, we like our group,” Armstrong said. “We’re going to see what we can do.”
He also said:
“We’re right in the hunt. It’s kind of where we thought we’d be, to be honest with you. It’s what we always talked about—playing meaningful games and pushing to see if we get into the playoffs.”
If Utah has the chance to add a piece or two and get into the wild card, it’ll be huge for the franchise, which is in its first year in the NHL.
It would also be huge for the development of the young stars as they learn the importance of playing in big games early in their careers.
Utah has 23 games left and a chance to push into the playoffs. The next week to 10 days will be very interesting for the organization.
