In a high-flying and exciting game between two young teams, San Jose also got goals from Nico Sturm and Fabian Zetterlund. Alexandar Georgiev made 29 saves.
After much back and forth in overtime, Caufield walked in one-on-one against Macklin Celebrini and went behind the back, through the legs, and over Georgiev.

Will Smith fed Zetterlund with a reverse pass from behind the net to give the Sharks a 1-0 lead 3:56 into the first period.
After a bad turnover at the offensive blue line by Jake Walman, Cole Caufield fed Suzuki on a two-on-one to tie the game at one at 6:49.
After Collin Graf dangled a defender, he fed the puck in front to Klim Kostin, who tapped it over to Nico Sturm to give the Sharks a 2-1 lead at 12:37.
Suzuki finishes off a nice passing play for his second goal of the game at 19:04.
Smith walked down the left wing and beat the goalie over the glove with a wrist shot to give the Sharks a 3-2 lead at 17:21 of the second period.
Newhook ties it up at 3 2:22 into the third period.
