Veteran forward Liam Watts has departed Castleford Tigers with immediate effect.
Watts, 34, played 148 games for the Tigers in total across two spells, including in the 2021 Challenge Cup final at Wembley.
His final Castleford appearance came in the cup defeat by Championship side Bradford Bulls earlier this month.
Now he has reached a mutual agreement with the club to seek his future away from the Mend-A-Hose Jungle.
“I sat down with Wattsy and we had a really honest discussion about what he wants and what I need at the club going forwards,” head coach Danny McGuire told the club’s website.
“We agreed the time was right for him to pursue other avenues, both on and off the pitch.”
