Leeds Rhinos captain Cameron Smith has been ruled out for up to 10 weeks with an ankle injury.
The 26-year-old loose forward suffered the injury in a tackle in Saturday’s win at Salford.
The club said Smith will see a consultant on Wednesday to decide if he requires surgery but that will not impact the length of his absence.
Brad Arthur’s men have started the Super League season with one defeat and one victory.
